Chase Heath Powers Palm Beach to Opening Day Win
You don’t have to look far to find Thursday night’s standout.

Chase Heath made sure of that.

The 22-year-old backstop out of O’Fallon, Missouri put together a statement performance for Single-A Palm Beach, going 2-for-3 with a home run, 3 RBI, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base, finishing the night with a staggering .667 average and 2.417 OPS.

And the biggest swing of the night?

Opening Day, fourth inning — Heath turned on a pitch and launched a go-ahead three-run home run, flipping the game and helping power the Palm Beach Cardinals to a 6–3 win over St. Lucie.

That’s how you introduce yourself.

Drafted in the 20th round (600th overall) in 2025, Heath isn’t a name that showed up on many preseason lists—but performances like this have a way of changing that conversation in a hurry.

Early returns say there’s something here.

Through his first 17 professional games (48 ABs), Heath is slashing .282/.452/.563 (1.015 OPS) with 4 home runs, a double, and 10 RBI, while showing advanced plate discipline with 10 walks.

That combination—power, patience, and production—will play at any level.

For now, he’s a catcher getting reps at DH, but if the bat keeps talking like this, the Cardinals will find a place for it.

Sometimes the story isn’t the top prospect.

Sometimes it’s the guy who just keeps showing up and producing.

Chase Heath did exactly that on Opening Day.
