Masyn Winn Safe After Overnight Car Accident
St. Louis, MO — By Ray Mileur

St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn is safe and did not suffer any serious injuries following a single-car accident late Wednesday night in St. Louis.

The incident occurred on Interstate 64/40, just hours after Winn delivered a walk-off single in the Cardinals’ 2–1 extra-inning win over the New York Mets earlier in the day.

According to a team statement, the accident was caused by wet pavement. Winn was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was attended to by local law enforcement, along with Cardinals security and medical personnel.

He was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and later released. As of Thursday morning, Winn is listed as healthy with no serious injuries reported.

The Cardinals also expressed their appreciation to the first responders who assisted at the scene.

With a scheduled off day on Thursday, the club is expected to resume play Friday in Detroit to open a road series against the Tigers.

For now, the outcome that matters most is clear.

Winn is safe.

And sometimes, that’s the only headline that counts.
