NORFOLK, Va. — On a night when the Cardinals’ system went 3-1, it was Brycen Mautz who set the standard.

The Memphis right-hander delivered one of the most dominant outings of the young season Thursday, striking out seven over four one-hit innings in a 5-2 win over Norfolk. From the first inning on, Mautz worked with pace, command, and confidence—keeping hitters off balance and rarely allowing solid contact.
