MiLB Pitcher of the Day — Max Rajcic (RHP, Memphis Redbirds)

In a game defined by late drama, Max Rajcic delivered the calm at the end of the storm.

The right-hander entered a one-run game after Memphis surged ahead in the eighth inning and closed the door with a scoreless ninth, earning the win and securing the Redbirds’ 6-5 comeback victory. While it may read as just one inning in the box score, the context tells the real story—this was a leverage moment, and Rajcic handled it with authority.

There’s a difference between pitching and finishing. Rajcic was asked to protect a narrow lead with momentum hanging in the balance, and he did exactly that—no traffic, no letdown, just clean execution when it mattered most.

His outing also capped off a strong day for Memphis pitching, which included a rehab appearance from Hunter Dobbins earlier in the game. But when it came time to secure the win, the ball went to Rajcic—and he answered.

These are the kinds of appearances that build trust within an organization. Late-inning reliability at the Triple-A level isn’t just valuable for the club—it’s often a preview of who can be counted on when the phone rings from St. Louis.
