Cardinal Chronicle Player of the Day: Caden Ferraro Delivers Big Swing in Peoria Win

Caden Ferraro did not need a five-hit night to make the biggest offensive impact in the Cardinals’ system Wednesday.

He just needed one big swing.

Ferraro went 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, a run scored and a walk in Peoria’s 7-2 win over Quad Cities at Dozer Park.

His final line: 1-for-4, HR, 2 RBI, R, BB

That was enough to earn Cardinal Chronicle Player of the Day honors.

Peoria scored once in the first inning and then broke the game open with a six-run third. The Chiefs finished with seven runs on 14 hits, and Ferraro supplied the only home run of the night for Peoria.

He had help around him.

Andrew Williamson went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, two runs scored and a walk. Jalin Flores went 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI. Yordalin Peña and Anyelo Encarnación each had two hits and drove in a run.

But Ferraro had the swing that stood out.

A home run.
Two RBIs.
A walk.
A Peoria win.

That is a Player of the Day performance.
