Blaze Jordan earns The Cardinal Chronicle’s Player of the Day honors after a career night at the plate in Memphis’ 13-1 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers on Saturday.
Jordan went 5-for-6 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored, setting a new professional career high for hits in a game. In a system that had several strong offensive performances, Jordan’s five-hit night stood alone.
The Redbirds’ lineup was rolling from top to bottom, with all nine starters recording at least one hit, but Jordan was the engine in the middle of it all. He kept finding barrels, kept traffic moving, and helped Memphis turn the game into a runaway.
This was the kind of offensive performance that jumps off the page. Five-hit games do not happen often, and when they do, they deserve the spotlight.
Jordan has been a steady presence for Memphis, and Saturday night was another reminder of why his bat remains one of the more interesting stories in the system. He did not just contribute to the win. He helped set the tone for one of the Redbirds’ most complete victories of the season.
Michael Dattalo and Chase Heath deserve strong mention for Palm Beach. Dattalo had three hits and two RBIs, while Heath delivered the walk-off winner in the ninth. But Jordan’s five-hit performance made him the clear choice.
