Tai Peete Delivers a Night to Remember
Every so often, a box score tells a story you don’t have to dress up.
This was one of those nights.
Tai Peete turned in one of the rarest performances in baseball Thursday night, hitting for the cycle in Peoria’s 24-7 rout of Wisconsin. A single. A double. A triple. A home run. All four corners of the game touched in one complete showing of what kind of player he can be.
And make no mistake—this wasn’t empty production in a blowout. Peete was at the center of an offensive explosion that saw the Chiefs pile up 21 hits and score in eight of nine innings. He wasn’t along for the ride—he was driving it.
For a young player, nights like this matter. Not just because of the stat line, but because of what it reveals. The ability to square up different pitches in different situations. The speed to stretch hits. The power to leave the yard. That’s a full toolset showing up all at once.
Development isn’t about one night—but sometimes one night gives you a glimpse of what could be.
Old school baseball still tips its cap to a cycle. Always has. Always will.
And on this night, Tai Peete earned it.
