Farm Report: Peete Powers Springfield, Eagen Fans 11

Springfield did it again.
The Cardinals beat San Antonio, 7-2, Thursday night at Route 66 Stadium, stretching their winning streak to nine and pushing their second-half lead in the Texas League North to six games.
Tai Peete, the MLB Pipeline No. 19 prospect in the Cardinals’ system, earned Hitter of the Day honors after going 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base. Daniel Eagen, the MLB Pipeline No. 17 prospect, earned Pitcher of the Day honors after striking out 11 over 5.2 innings.
The full-season affiliates finished 3-1, with Memphis, Springfield and Palm Beach picking up wins.
Memphis Redbirds — Triple-A
Overall Record: 71-58
Second Half: 24-30, 9th in the International League West, 10.0 GB
Streak: W2
Memphis 3, Charlotte 2 — 10 innings
Memphis made it two straight with a 3-2, 10-inning win over Charlotte.
The Redbirds trailed 2-0 before scoring twice in the sixth, then pushed across the deciding run in the 10th.
Bligh Madris went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Brody Moore went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Colton Ledbetter had two hits, including a double, and scored a run.
On the mound, Brandt Thompson gave Memphis six innings, allowing five hits, two earned runs and two walks while striking out five.
His final line:6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
The bullpen handled the rest. Hancel Rincón and Matt Svanson each worked a scoreless inning, and Ryan Murphy covered the final two innings without allowing a run.
Takeaway: Memphis got a strong start from Thompson, four scoreless innings from the bullpen and enough late offense to win in extras.
Springfield Cardinals — Double-A
Overall Record: 67-55
Second Half: 36-18, 1st in the Texas League North, 6.0 games ahead
Streak: W9
Springfield 7, San Antonio 2
Springfield is becoming the story of the Cardinals’ system.
The Cardinals beat San Antonio, 7-2, behind 12 hits, two home runs from Tai Peete and an 18-strikeout night from the pitching staff.
Peete, the MLB Pipeline No. 19 prospect, went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base.
His final line: 3-for-5, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 3 R, SB
That is a leadoff man doing damage.
Won-Bin Cho went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base. Tre Richardson III went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, a walk and a stolen base. Josiah Ragsdale, the MLB Pipeline No. 10 prospect, went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
Rainiel Rodriguez, the MLB Pipeline No. 1 prospect, drove in his 55th run. Deniel Ortiz, the MLB Pipeline No. 27 prospect, had a hit, an RBI and his eighth stolen base. Jesús Báez, the MLB Pipeline No. 21 prospect, reached twice with a hit and a walk.
On the mound, Daniel Eagen, the MLB Pipeline No. 17 prospect, struck out 11 over 5.2 innings. He allowed four hits, two earned runs and one walk.
His final line: 5.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 11 K
The bullpen kept San Antonio off the board the rest of the way. Michael Watson, Joseph King, José Davila and Randel Clemente combined for 3.1 scoreless innings, with Davila striking out three in the eighth and Clemente striking out two in the ninth.
Takeaway: Springfield has won nine straight, leads the division by six games and continues to get big nights from ranked prospects.
Peoria Chiefs — High-A
Overall Record: 58-64
Second Half: 26-30, 5th in the Midwest League West, 9.5 GB
Streak: L1
West Michigan 3, Peoria 1
Peoria could not build on its recent momentum, falling 3-1 to West Michigan.
The Chiefs were held to three hits. Caden Ferraro doubled and walked, while Jalin Flores and Yordalin Peña each added a hit. José Suárez scored Peoria’s only run and stole two bases, giving him 24 stolen bases on the season. Michael Dattalo drove in the lone run.
On the mound, Brandon Clarke, the MLB Pipeline No. 7 prospect, gave Peoria 4.1 strong innings, allowing two hits, one unearned run and one walk while striking out five.
His final line: 4.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
Zeke Wood followed with 1.2 scoreless innings, but West Michigan added single runs in the seventh and eighth to take control.
Takeaway: Clarke was sharp, but Peoria’s offense managed only three hits in a 3-1 loss.
Palm Beach Cardinals — Low-A
Overall Record: 62-61
Second Half: 29-28, 2nd in the Florida State League East, 5.5 GB
Streak: W2
Palm Beach 7, Dunedin 5
Palm Beach won its second straight, rallying from an early deficit to beat Dunedin, 7-5.
The Cardinals trailed 5-3 after three innings, but scored three times in the sixth and added another run in the eighth.
Sebastian Dos Santos, the MLB Pipeline No. 14 prospect, delivered the biggest swing. He went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs, two runs scored and a walk.
His final line: 2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R, BB
Owen Henne added his first home run and drove in two. Miguel Hernández went 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Ryan Mitchell, the MLB Pipeline No. 24 prospect, had two hits and stole his 38th base. Trevor Haskins doubled, drove in a run and stole his 23rd base.
On the mound, Dallis Moran gave Palm Beach three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three. Justin Militello finished it with a scoreless ninth.
Takeaway: Dos Santos drove in three, Henne homered and Palm Beach came back for a 7-5 win.

Brandon Clarke, MLB Pipeline No. 7, worked 4.1 innings, allowing two hits, one unearned run and one walk while striking out five for Peoria.
Josiah Ragsdale, MLB Pipeline No. 10, went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base for Springfield.

The Final Word
Springfield continues to look like the team to watch.
The Cardinals have won nine straight, lead the Texas League North by six games and keep getting big performances from ranked prospects. Peete homered twice. Eagen struck out 11. Ragsdale had two hits. Cho had three. The bullpen shut the door.
Memphis won in 10 innings behind Thompson and the bullpen. Palm Beach rallied behind Dos Santos and Henne. Peoria wasted a strong outing from Clarke in a 3-1 loss.
The affiliates finished 3-1.
Memphis won late. Springfield keeps rolling.
Peete powered the offense.
Eagen missed bats.
Palm Beach came back.
